Re: Message from the Board of Trustees Regarding COVID-19
Dear Families and Staff,
First, we’d like to acknowledge how difficult this past few weeks has been for everyone. The shift from our regular lives and participating in social activities, to social distancing and remote learning happened very quickly and with little notice. Without a doubt, this is something I don’t think anyone of us could have foreseen or fully prepared for. But here we are, facing this new and unprecedented reality.
Our board would like to recognize all the hard work our parents, staff and students have put in to make this transition as smooth as possible. It’s heartwarming to see all the additional time, cooperation and flexibility our Prairie Rose family has put in to make this new method of providing education come to light. We have parents working as teachers, educational assistants preparing meals for nutrition and food bank programs, bus drivers serving as delivery and courier services, teachers developing online and paper package learning plans that can be achieved at home, and our Family School Liaison team continues to reach out and identify those families who require additional support at this time. The saying goes, it takes a community to raise a child, and this couldn’t be better represented in our Prairie Rose communities.
Just like you, trustees are also getting used to this new world of working remotely and using technology. Our work will continue via online means to ensure we continue to look forward and make decisions that will serve our students and communities well into the future. This work will be made available to the public on our website following our public board meetings. We also invite you to stay connected with us via email. Each trustee’s contact information can be found on the Prairie Rose website under Departments and Board of Trustees ().
Thanks again for all your hard work and determination to do what’s best for kids, even when we are facing our own personal challenges. We are so proud to be part of such an amazing team.
Your Prairie Rose School Division Board of Trustees
